This is my favorite time of the year! From decorating the tree to making stove-top potpourri to wrapping presents, I love all the things. Are you an early holiday shopper? I love doing our holiday shopping a little early so that I can add the wrapped gifts under our tree. This adds the perfect holiday decor at no extra cost! In this post, I am sharing a few tips/trick when selecting your gift wrap and how you can wrap gifts like a pro!
First up, the wrapping paper! I always coordinate the colors of the wrapping paper with the colors in our tree. I mix a few prints with a few solids. When selecting a print for the paper, I try to keep it simple. With the ribbon, decorative elements and tag, I don’t want the wrapping paper to be too busy. My favorite wrapping paper is Sugar Paper™ from Target.
I always make sure to grab a few boxes in the wrapping section as well! Some oddly-shaped items are more difficulty to wrap and a box is going to help give you a clean, simple look when your gifts a stacked together.
You can also use gift bags for items that are a little harder to wrap. I love using simple craft paper bags that coordinates with my wrapping paper.
Next, I grab a few decorative elements and items to attach the tags. I love using natural items to attach such as cranberries and leaves. Ribbon, twine and tulle are also my favorite items to help tie everything together.
The last item is the gift tag. This is another way to add a special touch and help complete the look. You can tie the tags with twine, ribbon, tulle or use a small clothes pin. These simple, hand-lettered tags add the perfect touch to any gift.
Here are two final examples that coordinate together. The wrapping is simple and classic. Most of all, the recipient will love it!
You can find these hand- lettered tag in my Etsy shop. Now you can wrap gifts like a pro!
